Children will explore and label “happy” feelings.
Today they will learn the words “happy,” “thrilled,” and “ecstatic.”
Together, you’ll create a Word Garden:
Print one copy of each: “Word Garden Flower Pot: Happy”, “Word Cards Flowers and Poses: Happy”
Introduce each word, say the definition, and do the pose. Give examples of feeling happy, thrilled, and ecstatic.
Have the children take turns “planting” (taping) the feeling “flowers” onto the Flower Pot.
Children will practice the day’s feeling words as they chant and move. As you say each line, prompt children to repeat it after you:
I feel good about something, yay!
I am feeling happy today.
I am feeling really happy, yay!
That means I’m feeling thrilled today.
I am feeling super happy, yay!
That means I’m feeling ecstatic today.
