Home visiting programs enroll women during pregnancy and provide intensive home-based services, through the child’s third birthday. Home visitors help ensure mothers have a healthy pregnancy and assist families in addressing social, economic, educational and parenting issues that influence child health and education outcomes.
Family Recovery Program:
The Family Recovery Program, Inc. purchased the former St. Katharine’s Catholic School at 1209 N. Rose St. in East Baltimore to create housing for families needing support during the reunification process. Episcopal Housing Corporation provided development services during the entire renovation of the 28,000 sq. ft. classroom building. The three above ground floors were converted into 21 two and three-bedroom apartments. The Terrace level has 2 additional apartments. Additional space on the Terrace level is reserved for classrooms, program areas, administration and community/conference space. Family Recovery Program staff provide 24-hour security and intensive case management to ensure the success of their families. Staff also connects families with additional services as needed including referrals to healthcare, transportation, and job placement.
