The Big Idea: Help kids decide where money goes.
Print out these labels. Then:
- Talk with kids about “Spending,” “Sharing,” and “Saving.” Find jars to place the labels on and have kids color and decorate the jars.
- Ask kids about things they want. Discuss how much it would cost and how to acquire them.
- When they receive money, whether as an allowance or gift, decide together how much to put in which jar.
- As the money is collected in the jars, talk about progress toward how they want to spend.
