Racism is everyone’s problem, and it can take a big toll on military families. In some communities, there is a lot of pain and hurt that is stigmatized as a sign of weakness. Struggling with trauma caused by racism is real and recognizing it is a way to stand up against racism. We practice racial justice when we find ways to heal through self-care.
Write one or two things you will do everyday to practice self-care (children can draw pictures of their self-care strategies in the video). Place it where everyone can see as a reminder of how self-care needs to be part of your everyday lives.
