The Big Idea: Having a wide range of feeling words can help children cope with challenges.

Launch Feelings Have Words
After playing the game, find your own “Feeling Faces.” As you read a book together, point to different characters and name how they’re feeling. Ask children why the character might have been feeling that way. Are there any clues in the picture? What does their body look like? Extend the conversation to children’s own experience by asking them to describe a time when they felt this way, too.
