Right now it can be challenging for many people to get themselves to a vaccination site and take care of themselves if they don’t feel well afterwards. Think of family members, friends, or neighbors you might be able to help. If you are in a position to do so, you might:

  • Keep your computer, tablet, or phone on and refresh your browser often to keep trying to get them an appointment (vaccinefinder.org).
  • Tell others about why you got vaccinated and about your experience getting the vaccine. Answer their questions about your experience.
  • Find out if they have a ride to get to their appointment and, depending on your vaccination status, give them a ride if they need one.
  • Check in to see how they’re feeling afterward, and offer them food or anything else they need.

Use this as an opportunity to explain to children that in a community, people take care of each other. You’ll be an example of compassion and community responsibility in action, and this modeling will last a lifetime!
